Computer-assisted, Comprehensive Eye Examinations
By examining your eyes each year, we can look for changes that could indicate a need for different vision correction or that could be symptoms of some type of eye disease. Early detection and treatment of diseases will help preserve your vision.
Diagnosis and Treatment of Ocular Disease and Injury
If you have an infection or minor injury in your eye, our doctors can treat your eye and restore it to health.
Co-management for Cataract Surgery
We work closely with the ophthalmologists in the area to provide follow-up care and new prescriptions after your cataract surgery.
Nerve Fiber Testing for Glaucoma
Glaucoma is a serious eye disease that can cause vision loss. Although it often develops without symptoms, glaucoma can be controlled if it is detected early. Using the state-of-the-art GDx Access machine allows us to look for signs of glaucoma and treat it in its earliest stages.
Dry Eye Treatment with Punctal Plugs
If your eyes feel dry or gritty, look red, or even water frequently you may be suffering from dry eye syndrome. Tears, which are formed in the glands around the eye each time you blink, are the eye's natural lubricant. When you stop producing enough tearsÑor when you're loosing too many tears from evaporation or drainage from your eyeÑyou get dry eyes. (Sometimes the glands try to produce more tears to compensate for dry eye, which causes your eyes to be watery all the time.)
Dry eyes are not only uncomfortable; if they're not treated, you could end up with serious and permanent damage to your eyes.
Fortunately we can treat dry eyes by closing the punctal opening in your eyeÑthe place where the tears drain away. We place a very small silicone plug (a punctal plug) in the opening to keep the tears in. Your eyes will feel more comfortable almost immediately as they're bathed by their own, natural tears.
